The Maintenance Phase

Maintenance Phase

________________________________________________________________________

I have done a lot of research in working out which Chinese herbs are traditionally known to support and improve the immune system. The immune system is made up white blood cells, proteins, tissues, and organs. It protects the body from microorganisms such as bacteria, parasites, viruses, or fungi.
For the immune system to work properly, the body must first recognize that foreign microorganisms have invaded it, and then the body needs to activate the immune response to try and rid itself of the microorganisms.

The immune response is how the body recognizes and defends itself against foreign microorganisms.  When the body is unable to defend itself, body tissues are destroy by the foreign microorganisms.  When this happens, the inflammatory response (inflammation) becomes activated. The inflammatory response is part of the body’s immune system.  During the inflammatory response, the damaged tissues (cells) send out signals to immune cells, which migrate to the damaged area. The immune cells engulf bacteria, release chemicals that kill bacteria, and release substances called histamine. Histamines increase blood flow to the affected area. All of these activities aid healing in the damaged area.

The immune system however, sometimes can become activated for too long, and when this happens inflammation continues to persist long after the initial exposure of toxins.  My research suggest that when the immune system is reacting to harmless substances that are not microorganisms, such as pollen, the immune response is prompted, and this can lead to allergies, asthma, skin rashes, eczema, psoriasis, and hair loss.  In fact, when the immune response is prompted by harmless substances in the skin area, this may also lead to skin problems.  And when the immune system is prompted by harmless substances in the lungs, this may lead to shortness of breath and asthma attacks.

My theory is that we need to handle the reason behind the problem in order to fully handle any health issue.   As mentioned above, the immune response is sometimes prompted by harmless substances which may lead to allergies, skin rashes, eczema, psoriasis, and hair loss. The herbs in the teas described in the table bellow have been traditionally used to support the immune system.

The healing phase will increase liver, circulation, and detoxification functions, which will begin healing your body. The discomfort during the healing phase is the body’s detoxification function.

We recommend different types of herbal teas at different points of the cleansing and healing phase. It is important to complete the cleansing phase before starting the healing phase.

The lymphatic system consists of organs, ducts, and nodes. It transports a watery clear fluid called lymph. This fluid distributes immune cells and other factors throughout the body. It also interacts with the blood circulatory system to drain fluid from cells and tissues.

JXT The herbs in JXT tea are traditionally used to help the body stimulate production of cells. Patients with stomach ulcers, duodenal ulcers, and hemorrhoids greatly benefit from this tea.
PH The herbs in PH tea are traditionally used to stimulate cells to produce collagen.  The result is healing of the skin and softening of scar tissue.  To accelerate healing, PH may be given with BWDH and JXT. Using PH and WLS together will improve the skin's ability to maintain its structure and prevent it from drying out.
WLS The herbs in WLS are traditionally used to increase kidney channels.  Histamines are removed from the body through the kidneys.  Histamines cause blood vessels to become wider during the inflammatory response. Histamines are also responsible for allergies and extreme tiredness.
LZ The herbs in LZ tea are traditionally used to boost the immune system.  LZ is traditionally known to increase the production of white blood cells.

IM

The herbs in IM tea are traditionally known to neutralize the inflammatory proteins in the lymphatic system.  I use this tea when patient's feel residual pain.  This tea helps reduce inflammation in the lymphatic system.  The inflammatory proteins cause low level of pain and tiredness.  As the inflammatory proteins pass through the lymphatic system it helps activate other white blood cells.
NZ The herbs in NZ are traditionally known to help the liver, kidney, eye sight. These herbs are also traditionally known to help with symptoms that include dizziness, soreness and weakness of the lower back and knees, irritability, hot flashes, night sweats, and eyes problems caused by lack of nourishment to the liver.
